Weapon description
HP Heerespistole /m/39/, manufactured by Waffenfabrik Walther, Zella Mehlis, caliber 9 mm Luger, made in 1939, eight rounds (magazine capacity).
This weapon was exported to Sweden in April 1940 as part of the so-called Swedish Contract in the number of 1500 pieces (1st series – 1000 pieces, 2nd series – 500 pieces). Swedish army listed this pistol under the designation m/39. The pistol has the correct designation for this type of weapon.
The weapon bears the Walther trademark in the form of a flag on the left side of the slide. Behind it there are two lines indicating the manufacturer and its headquarters – Waffenfabrik Walther, Zella-Mehlis (Thur.) and in the second line the patent designation – Walther’s Patent with the calibre of the gun Cal. 9 m/m. At the end is the designation of the type of weapon Mod. HP. On the right side above the trigger is stamped the letter of the H series (this letter was used only for the first series of 1000 pistols) and the serial number. The serial number is also located on the frame of the gun under the barrel.
The weapon comes with two matching magazines produced by Walther. The pistol is fitted with correct black bakelite herringbone barrels. The matching holster for the gun is made of thick leather stamped with the stamp of the Swedish importer Widforss vepon sport STOCKHOLM.
