Weapon description
MAUSER HSc, manufactured by Mauser, calibre 7.65 mm Browning, made in 1942 , eight-round (magazine capacity).
This is the second production variant of this type delivered in 1942 as the first police variant for the needs of the Reichspolizei (Reich Police). The abbreviation HSc stands for, HS – Hahn Selbstspanner (trigger with tensioning) and the lower-case letter c indicates the third model.
The weapon has the correct designation for this type of weapon. The pistol is successively marked on the left side with the Mauser company logo, in two lines with the company name and the Mauser – Werke A.G. headquarters. Oberndorf a. N., the second line bears the gun model Mod. HSc and the calibre Kal. 7.65 mm.
The German police acceptance mark in the shape of an eagle with a cross in a circle and the letter L stamped on the base of the grip at the root of the bow at the grip. The weapon serial number is stamped on the lower part of the grip at the front. On the right side there are civilian verification marks in the shape of an Eagle/N on the back root of the bow at the grip and on the breech at the front near the barrel muzzle.
The weapon has wooden stocks with herringbone, smooth around the edges corresponding with the weapon type. The magazine is made of steel with the Mauser logo on the underside corresponding with the weapon manufacture year design.
