Weapon description
S.A.C.M. 1935A, manufactured by Societé Alsacienne de Constructions Mechaniques (S.A.C.M.), calibre 7.65 mm Longue, made in 1942, eight-round (magazine capacity).
This is the third variant of this type of weapon produced after the occupation of France by the German army. The pistol was part of a delivery in 1942 to the OKH – Heereswaffenamt Dienstststelle Paris (Supreme Army Command – Army Ordnance Office Service Paris). The weapon features the correct marking for this type of weapon.
The pistol is marked on the left side successively with the Mle model abbreviation with the weapon type number 1935A (the letter A stands for Alsacienne), a stylized capital letter indicating the series, followed by serial number, and finally, for all pistols, a capital printed A at the end. Located below the serial number is the manufacturer’s abbreviation S.A.C.M. In the centre of this marking there is the stamped acceptance mark WaA251 of the acceptance officer, Major von Strasdas, who was assigned the service number 251. The right side has no marking.
The weapon finish is burnt black enamel (Parkolac). The pistol has black Bakelite stocks with herringbone, smooth around the edges corresponding to the type of weapon. Steel magazine with no number that would correspond with the weapon manufacture year design.
