Weapon description

S.A.C.M. 1935A, manufacturer Societé Alsacienne de Constructions Mechaniques (S.A.C.M.), calibre 7,65 mm Longue (long), made in 1940, eight rounds (magazine capacity).

This is the first variant of this type of weapon, produced before the German army had occupied France. The gun has the correct designation for this type of weapon produced in the town of Cholet. The pistol is successively marked on the left side with the Mle model abbreviation with the weapon type number 1935A (the letter A stands for Alsacienne), a stylized capital letter indicating the series, followed by the serial number and finally, for all pistols, a capital printed A. Below the serial number is the manufacturer abbreviation S.A.C.M. On the right-hand side are the Munich verification marks, including the CIP N mark, which appears in three places. In front of the verification marks is the stamped calibre of the weapon in the form of 7.65 long.

The weapon has black bakelite grip panels with herringbone, smooth around the edges corresponding to the type of weapon. The steel magazine is unnumbered corresponding to the design of the year of manufacture of the weapon.

According to the serial number, the pistol is one of the last 650 weapons produced, which were to be removed by S.A.C.M. employees to the army depot in Tulle before the advancing German troops, but 600 units were lost on the way.
