The weapon has the correct designation for the production year 1946-47 and corresponds to the last, third variant of the weapon. The total number of these weapons assembled from parts already produced before the end of the war is estimated at 1,100. The weapons were assembled by the French occupation administration at the Mauser factory and later continued to be assembled in France on equipment already transported from the German factory.
The gun is marked on the left side, in cursive script, with the manufacturer name – Mauser – Werke A. G. Oberndorf and N. Following the name is the Mauser manufacturer’s logo. The serial number is stamped on the rear end of the slide as well as on the bottom of the grip. The right side also features a written abbreviation W.T.P – Westentaschen Pistole (vest pocket pistol), followed by the calibre size 6.35 and the abbreviation D.R.P – Deutsches Reichs Patent (German Reich patent) indicating the registration of the weapon patent.
